Jah Wise

Jah Wise, AKA Robert Campbell, has been on the controls since the late 1960s, and is one of the few foundation-era Jamaican selectors still playing today. Younger brother of singer Cornell Campbell, he started out while still in school selecting for the Spanish Town sound Mellotone. From there Campbell joined Tippatone Hi-Fi, moving speakers before rising to become the sound's top selector, running records behind deejays including Big Youth and Dr. Alimantado. Now based in New York, he continues to keep the culture alive, playing dances and bringing the sound to a new generation.

Tiny T, AKA Tennyson Goulbourne, has been steeped in music since childhood, and carries one of London's foundation sounds into its second generation. His father Freddy and uncle Eddy built Freddy Cloudburst in the Waltham Park district of Kingston, then carried it to London in 1955, holding the corner south of the river with residencies at Mr Bee's in Peckham and Cloud's/The Ram Jam in Brixton, and giving a young Jah Shaka his first technical schooling. Now T runs his own library of rare records through the sound's original valves, playing revival dances from Osaka to Genoa to Mexico.
Tommy Far East

Tommy Far East is widely considered one of the best selectors & collectors of Jamaican oldies anywhere. 30 yrs of digging have put over 15,000 singles in his crates. He has supported Alton Ellis, Prince Buster, Stranger Cole and Keith & Tex on their Japanese tours. In 2009 he took a London sound clash as a relative unknown, winning on his final tune. He has spun on bills across Europe and the Americas, from Hamburg to London, Los Angeles to NY, Mexico City to Brazil, and beyond. As the head of Far East Records, he reissues Duke Reid's Treasure Isle catalogue as Duke Reid Classics.
